ABOUT US:     The owner, Barbara Kasak, has been in the travel industry since 1983, involved in every aspect of the business. With over 27 years in the trade, Barbara's experience has led her around the globe more than once. She has been published in several trade publications for her knowledge and expertise (as well as for catching a 42 pound Mahi Mahi in the Bahamas, but that's another story!) Extensive travelling has offered her the opportunity to explore some of the most unique and interesting spots in the world. But, as she puts it "once I got to Belize, I never wanted to go anywhere else." Our associates are all seasoned travellers and familiar with Belize - because Barbara has made her passion our business.

WHY BELIZE? WHY NOT!     This tiny nation nestled on the Caribbean Sea has it all - and more. Belize has never been a mainstream tourism spot and that has kept the land unchanged, and the people real. Real people doing real things, not just another tourist trap. The atmosphere is unhurried and friendly. The variety endless.

Although this country is small, it is incredibly diverse. From sugar cane fields to lush tropical rainforest . . . from the Maya Mountains to the Mt Pine Ridge . . . from mysterious subterranean caves to soaring Mayan Pyramids . . . from raging rivers to the longest barrier reef in the western hemisphere . . . from bustling Belize City to isolated untouched islands . . . Belize has something for everyone.

IMAGINE. . . .
A family vacation with no lines to wait in, where the children make friends the first day and never have to wear shoes
or chase hermit crabs all day while you relax in a hammock.
Snorkel from glass bottom boats & eat BBQ's on the beach

A honeymoon on your own secluded island with no one else there except your own private chef,
Or an adrenaline producing exotic adventure expedition to start your new life together
Or do both!

Begin your journey together with an exotic tropical destination wedding ... on the beach, next to a waterfall, atop a Mayan Pyramid ... endless romantic choices abound

An educational exploration of some of the oldest Mayan
Ruins on the planet,
Join an archeological dig.
Or study with traditional native healers, bush doctors and drummers.
Spot rare birds and wildlife.
View wild orchids and flora you've only seen in botanical gardens

A funfilled beach holiday with unlimited water and underwater sports,
Beach bars with funky bands,
Dancing to local Punta Rock music till the wee hours,
Beach volleyball & basketball competitions,
Deep sea or fly fishing,
And, of course, some of the best diving on this side of the world!

While most visitors spend the majority of their Belize vacation on the Cayes or Coasts, the interior mainland is really not to be missed. Here you will find:

A vast network of caves chock full of Maya pottery and remains. Explore them by foot, tubes or canoes. National Geographic’s famous Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM cave), Barton Creek Cave, Che Chem Ha pottery cave, Tiger Cave, Ho Keb, Rio Frio & Crystal Cave to name a few just waiting to be explored….

Maya ruins from the Classic & pre Classic period dating back to 600 AD:

  • Caracol with its soaring Caana Pyramid – the tallest structure in all of Belize to this day
  • Altun Ha where the famous 9 pound carved jade head was found
  • Xunantunich which you can access by horseback from many of the jungle lodges
  • Cahal Pech containing intricate nooks and crannies, convoluted stairways & arched porticos is walking distance from San Ignacio town
  • Lamanai with its elaborately carved stellae & unique location overlooking a lagoon
  • Lubaantun where one of the mysterious crystal skulls was found ……..…and many more Maya sites in various stages of excavation.
An easy & interesting day trip across the Guatemala border brings you to the magnificent Tikal ruins – huge, powerful, amazing pyramids including an ancient Maya astronomical observatory. Fantastic nearby hotels, like Francis Ford Coppola’s La Lancha or several lodges right in the Tikal National Park itself, offer accommodations for any budget.
Far to the South, in the Toledo district, you will find the home of many of Belize’s current Maya population. Here you can experience indigenous home stay opportunities, see tortillas being made by hand, observe traditional musical instrument making. Or visit one of several Cacao plantations, with hands on chocolate making sessions. If you are lucky enough to be in the area the first week of May you can attend the annual Cacao Festival, with competitions & traditional Maya pageantry & dancing.

Other countrywide festivals and events include:

  • The Cashew Festival in Crooked Tree held the first weekend in May. Sample Cashew Wine, jams, breads and more tasty items than you thought possible – all made with some part of the cashew tree…. it’s more than just nuts!
  • Lobster Fests are held in Caye Caulker, Ambergris Caye and Placencia mid to late June when lobster season officially opens.
  • A festival atmosphere surrounds several competitive races which bring participants from around the world. Spectators line the routes of these events with camps & way stations to cheer on the participants :

    • The 179 mile canoe race known as La Ruta Maya where local & International canoe teams compete in a 3 day race along the Belize River from San Ignacio to Belize City the first weekend in March.
    • Easter weekend brings the annual cycling classic where novices and professionals compete in the 144 mile bike race from Belize City to San Ignacio, and back!
    • The Lagoon to Reef Eco Challenge Kayak Race happens in Ambergris Caye mid to late April every year.

  • Carnival in Belize is celebrated in September between two of the National Holidays, St George’s Caye Day (10 Sept) & Independence Day (21 Sept). Spectacular floats with elaborately costumed performers and wildly choreographed dancing “mas” bands parade down the streets of Belize City and most villages, competing for prizes.
Birdwatchers: Belize is home to over 560 species of birds including the huge Jabiru Stork, rare Harpy Eagles, and the national bird of Belize, the Keel -Billed Toucan. Visit bird sanctuaries like Crooked Tree or Aguacate lagoon, or the island nesting site (and World Heritage Site) of Half Moon Caye National Monument where the Red Footed Boobies and Magnificent Frigate birds nest. In the rainforest and mountain areas inland see over 10 types of parrots including colorful Scarlet Macaws take flight.. 32 different kind of kites, hawks & eagles, 42 types of warblers, 25 types of tanagers, 22 types of hummingbirds! Everything from cormorants, herons & ibis to kingfishers, motmots & vireos can be found in Belize. Delightful birds with fanciful names such as Red Legged Honeycreepers, Laughing Falcons, Black Bellied Whistling Ducks, Tawny Throated Leaf Tossers, Rufous Browed Pepper Shrikes and Purple Crowned Fairy Hummingbirds are yours to discover! Whether you are a serious birder with a “life list” or a casual observer, birding in Belize will delight and satisfy you.

Adventure enthusiasts and weekend warriors – Belize will get your blood pumping and challenge your very soul! From rappelling down sinkholes to zip lining through the jungle canopy, from trekking and hiking through dense rainforest to parasailing & skydiving over the crystal clear sea, from spelunking dry caves & scuba diving underwater caves to rock climbing and cliff diving – Belize has it all! A few comments from contented customers…

Hey Barb…. So the verdict on Belize... two thumbs WAY up!
It sure would have been great to stay down there longer and soak up more of the wonderful Belizean heat and hospitality.  We would like to thank you for helping us plan our trip and giving us a great introduction to a great country. I took a gamble by using an agent that I picked off the internet but it paid off… you did a great job and we will definitely return! Thanks again… it was a great trip and we will mention Barb’s Belize if anyone needs an agent. ~Scott

WOW…we had an incredible time!! Your recommendations could not have been better. Our time on the mainland and island were a perfect combo. We absolutely loved all the activities/excursions and look forward to returning. Will pass your name and information on to others we know who are interested in visiting Belize. Thanks again Barb. ~Karen

Barb, I have been meaning to write you since we got back. The trip went like clockwork.  We loved duPlooy's.  The last night, we were the only one's there.  We had everyone's undivided attention…
We would like to thank you for arranging everything; it would not have gone so smooth without all of your help.  You guided me selecting the perfect two resorts.  I would go back to them both the next time.  I have told numerous individuals about your service and will continue to do so.  Thanks again. ~Janice and Mark

I just received my document box...that was quick! I am very impressed with your documentation and brochures........can't wait to book my next clients that inquire about Belize with you. It’s been a pleasure!  ~Marcia S. ~ Certified Travel Consultant

Thank you for your guidance and help. I am glad you specialize in Belize. I was impressed that the locals really care about their country and its environment and want to share it with others. They understand what travel means to their country and its financial success. They did everything they could to insure we had a good time and would come back which we will… ~Carl

Hi Barb… Just wanted to drop a quick note to tell you that everything has been great.   Everything this week was truly marvelous.  The Chupah with the palm fronds was spectacular.  Thanks so much for that idea!!  The folks at duPlooy's went above and beyond in giving our guests options on things to do…..Richard Holder, the photographer, was amazing to work with….The flutist, Pablo, was a trip.  We came down with a lot of things yet to work out and not one thing went wrong for the entire wedding.  How many people can say that about weddings in their home towns?  Anyway, we'll send more details later, but we're flying high and wanted to let you know.
Thanks again for all your help and advice.  We couldn’t have done any of it without you.  ~Jeff

I am so sorry for being so late with this heartfelt Thank You.  We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Ambergris Caye and Xanadu.  I could not have asked for anything better.  It was truly the best mix of tropical paradise with some of the modern conveniences of home.  We were of course the envy of many people who inquired how we got the PERFECT and BEST room at the resort.  Thank you for that! I was up with the sun every morning to catch the gorgeous sunrise.  There is nothing like having your morning coffee on the porch watching the sun come up in such a beautiful place.  I have some of the most awesome pictures. Everything went very smooth, the flights, the accommodations, the tours….    I almost cried when it was time to go home.  Again, I just want to say thank you for helping me to plan the Best trip ever.  We will remember our 25th Wedding Anniversary and Xanadu forever. ~~Christi

Hi Barb-I wanted to let you know that we had the best time in Belize. We were thrilled with Black Rock Lodge, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food good, and the location was amazing. I saw one of your magnets on their refrigerator there! Having a car was good for us, although the roads really are something……We love love loved Ambergris and Mata Chica. What an amazing place. The people there went above and beyond and genuinely made us feel like we were long lost friends, hugging us when we left. …..The hospitality is amazing, everywhere.
I wanted to let you know that I very much appreciated all of your advice and help in planning the perfect vacation for us. It couldn't have been better. Thanks again!! ~Kym

Hi Barb, I’ve been meaning to send you a quick message to let you know how the honeymoon went. We had a wonderful time!  You certainly made everything so easy and it all came together very nicely and without a single problem.
The weather was even perfect with the right mix of a few good storms but mostly sunny.  Chaa Creek was beautiful and very relaxing.  Very glad we split the trip to include a few days there.  Spent a lot of time relaxing but did take part in a few hikes and a great horseback ride. The food was also great and plentiful.  The Victoria House was equally as nice and the Rainforest Suite was perfect.  We went diving several times with a local dive shop and that too was great with great visibility and a ton of sharks.  We went into San Pedro most evenings for dinner to experience the local cuisine and we were impressed with each place we ate.
All in all it was about as perfect a honeymoon as I could imagine.  The only regret is that it had to come to an end.  Thank you again for helping to pull it all together and I will definitely recommend your service to anyone know planning a vacation to Belize.  ~Thanks, Rodney

We had a GREAT trip!  Everything worked as planned.  We loved Ramon's and San Pedro. …Food quality excellent, Scuba diving was also world class….Thanks for putting such a great trip together, we will recommend you to our friends if they plan a trip to Belize. ~Tom
